New Delhi: The moment the Lok Sabha elections are over, the people of the country have been shocked by the central government. The price of precious milk has gone up by Rs 2 per litre. The increased rates are effective from June 2 midnight. Similarly, the National Highways Authority (NHAI) has increased the toll tax. The toll tax for cars, buses and trucks has been increased by three to five percent. The central government has increased the current toll tax rate in the country and imposed the increased tax from June 2 midnight. As a result, traveling in the country will be more expensive from today. Currently, the toll tax rate at the national level is 3 percent. But since June 3, it has increased to 5 percent. It has been implemented in 11 toll plazas across the country. It is said that the toll tax has to be paid at the rate of minimum 5 to maximum 25 percent for different classes of vehicles.

There will be an additional toll of 5 rupees on light vehicles and 5 to 20 rupees on commercial vehicles. This has been informed by the National Highways Authority. According to the new list, the duty on light vehicles has been increased by Rs 5, while the duty on commercial and heavy vehicles has been increased from Rs 5 to Rs 20. Overweight vehicles will have to pay ten times more tax, it has been said. The toll tax for one car is Rs 90 only in the case of a one-way trip, while the tax amount is Rs 140 for a round trip.

Similarly for light commercial vehicles it will be Rs 150 and Rs 225 respectively. It is said that the tax for buses and trucks will be Rs 310 and 465 and for heavy commercial vehicles it will be Rs 490 and 735. It is to be noted that the central government has spent enough capital in the last decade for the development of national highway infrastructure, and currently there are 1 lakh 46 thousand km of roads. already built. In the financial year 2018-19, a total of Rs 252 billion was collected. But in the financial year 2022-23, this amount has increased to 540 billion rupees.
