Asit Tripathy resigned from the post of chairman of West Odisha Development Council.

Asit Tripathy resigned from the post of chairman of West Odisha Development Council. He was in this position since 2020. The senior IAS of 1986 batch is Astt. Asit Tripathy took charge as the chairman of West Odisha Development Council after retiring from the post of the 43rd Chief Administrative Secretary of the state. While he has resigned from his post today, the state government has accepted his resignation letter. A notice has been issued by the Department of Planning and Coordination.

West Odisha Development Council or WODC Chairman Asit Tripathy has resigned. Asit’s resignation letter has been accepted by the state government. On the other hand, it seems that the Mohan government will do political settlement in this position. It is known that a senior leader of West Odisha will be appointed as the chairman of the council. Asit’s resignation letter has been received from this afternoon, a statutory notice has been published by the Planning and Coordination Department.

Former Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy has resigned from the post of Chairman of West Odisha Development Council. Asit was removed from the post of chief administrative secretary by the Naveen government. But it is not known when Asit sent the resignation letter. The BJD government appointed him as the chairman of the council in December 2020. Asit was appointed to this position by the Naveen government after the death of West Odisha leader Subas Chauhan. Asit was appointed as the chairman of the council by the BJD government before retiring as the state chief secretary on 31 December 2020. Naveen was known to Asit as a very trusted official of the government. The BJD government came to power in the state from June 4 and the BJP government came to power from June 12.

Leaders and officials who got administrative and political relief in various positions in the BJD government resigned. But there was no information about Asit’s resignation. About 2 months after the formation of the government, Asit’s resignation has come to light. It is not known whether Asit resigned voluntarily or under pressure from the government.
