Mootv Odisha / Cuttack : Dhenkanal Range Officer Bibhudananda Mishra was arrested. Yesterday (Friday), the Vigilance Department arrested him and prosecuted him in the case of theft of illegal assets. Vigilance has seized a total of 6 crores of property from Vibhudananda. The biggest thing is that he kept assets 214 percent more than his income, informed the Vigilance SP. Vigilance seized two two-storeyed buildings and two plots in Bhubaneswar, a flat in Hyderabad, deposits of Rs 1 crore 5 lakh, 557 grams of gold and two four-wheelers. Apart from this, a luxurious farmhouse has also been built in Athagarh. Built on an area of about 5 acres, this farmhouse has a park-like infrastructure.

Bibhudananda Mishra spent 2 crore 32 lakh rupees in the construction of his farmhouse. Bhubanananda kept 4 peacocks, foxes, hundreds of chickens of 5 species and about 20 different species of birds in this farmhouse and made it a small zoo. After surveying the farmhouse, the animals living there were rescued and counted and a list was prepared with the help of the Animal Resources Officer. As the peacocks are wild animals, they have been handed over to the forest department. The rest of the animals are kept there. Apart from taking care of the animals, no construction work can be done in the premises of the farmhouse without the order of the court, said the Vigilance SP. The big thing is that if this farmhouse is considered to be a non-income asset then the court may also order expropriation. In this situation, the farmhouse can be given for public use, said the Vigilance Department.

The information obtained by the vigilance while investigating the case has shocked everyone. Because he built the kind of luxurious rooms in his farmhouse and invested crores of rupees. He invested 2 crore 32 lakh rupees only for the construction of the building. If the rest of the assets are estimated, crores of rupees have been invested in farmhouses alone. Similarly, the incident of keeping peacocks has also been registered against him. However, how a ranger kept the peacock after knowing the law has surprised everyone. Where did he get so many peacocks! The SP said, “Who else is involved in this case or not, it will be clear after the investigation.”
