Mootv Odisha / Puri :
Bulldozer roamed Puri beach. After complaints about illegal plotting and construction of houses on the beach, the district administration has demolished it. The administration has demolished the illegal construction on the beach near Stirling Street in Sipsarubali Mouza under Brahmagiri Tahsil. In the presence of Brahmagiri Tahsildar, PKDA authorities, forest department, municipality and police, bulldozers were installed and this illegal construction was demolished.
According to District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain, permanent construction on the beach is completely illegal. So plotting and selling here or building a house is a complete violation of the law. After the administration informed the CRZ authorities about the people constructing houses on the beach with the permission of the CRZ authorities, the CRZ authorities have withdrawn all the construction permits. Therefore, illegal plotting and construction of houses on the beach have been demolished. An investigation is also being conducted as to how the person found a stable place on the beach. The District Collector of Puri said that steps will be taken in the coming days to inform the revenue department of the government and cancel the existing land lease.
The district administration will also keep an eye on the illegal construction on the Puri beach. A special team comprising Puri Municipality, Forest Department, PKDA, Tahsildar and Police Administration has been formed. The main goal of this team is to rescue the illegally occupied government land in Puri Beach and other areas. However, while a large number of human resources are also required for this, the state government will be informed and the seized government land in Puri city will be rescued. The city’s intellectuals welcomed it as it was demolished by the administration today.
