Kamat Hotels (India) Ltd. in association with the Odisha Government to Promote Inclusivity in Ira By Orchid Hotels, Lotus Resort s & Mahodadhi Palace

 In an initiative to promote inclusivity and empowerment, “Kamat Hotels (India) Ltd.”, in association with the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of Odisha, has announced the hiring of ten students with hearing and speech impairments at IRA by Orchid Hotels Bhubaneswar, Lotus Resort Konark & Mahodadhi Palace, Puri. This initiative reflects Kamat Hotels’ commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace, ensuring these individuals grow and thrive in their professional careers.

 To mark the occasion, an orientation programme has been held at Lok Seva Bhawan in presence of   Smt. Anu Garg, IAS, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Odisha on    20th January, Monday. Among others, Mr. Balwant Singh, IAS,  Commisioner-cum-Secretary , Tourism Department, Odisha, Mr. Bharat Bhusan Biswal, Regional general Manager, Kamat Hotel’s india ltd , Mrs Sharada Ghosh, Principal, IHM Bhubaneswar and  other dignitaries were present on the occasion . This program is designed to inspire and pave the way for similar initiatives across the hospitality industry.  

On the eve of the programme, Dr Vithal Venkatesh Kamat, Executive Chairman and MD, Kamat Hotels said, “We believe that true hospitality goes beyond offering excellent services—it extends to creating opportunities for individuals from all walks of life. This initiative, in collaboration with the Government of Odisha, is a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and empowerment. We are confident this step will inspire others to follow suit and build a more inclusive industry.”

DC-cum-ACS interacted with these students for a quite some time. With the help of a sign language interpreter, she could able to know about them, how happy in getting this job and how it will help in bringing success in their lives.

This initiative aligns with the company’s vision to contribute meaningfully to society by integrating inclusivity into its core operations. The orientation program will not only equip the new hires with the skills and confidence required to excel in the hospitality industry but also serve as an inspiring example for others in the sector.
