On the occasion of Mahakumbh, Uttar Pradesh, the North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Prayagraj under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India has organized a mega cultural programme from January 16 to 24, where Rudraksha Foundation of Bhubanswar, Odisha has performed Odissi dance on the first day at Ganga Manch, Parade Ground Sector-1,here. The artistes performed “Gangavataram” dance Choreographed by Guru Sri Bichitrananda Swain, founder of the ‘Rudrakshya’ Foundation.
The dance performance by the artistes of this Odishi Foundation mesmerized the lakhs of devotees witnessed the programme. “It is a matter of great pride, glory, privilege and joy for us to have the opportunity to perform at a large fair like Mahakumbh”, expressed by the artistes of the institution.
Artistes Dushasan Sahoo, Santosh Ram, Samir Kumar Panigrahi, Sanjeev Kumar Jena, Prasanta Kumar, Biswajit Jena, Basistha Jena, Roji Swain, Avipsa Biswal, Lopamudra Sahoo, Anjali Dash, T. Tulika Reddy, Suchismita Sahoo of ‘Rudraksha’ Foundation performed this programme.
The intellectuals and people of Odisha in general has appreciated the interest and efforts of Rudraksha Foundation and for the support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in presenting the world famous Odissi dance before the millions of devotees and tourists on this platform at Prayagraj on the occasion of famous Mahakumbh .
It is noteworthy to mention that the famous Bollywood singer Shankar Mahadevan along with his team also performed a bhajan programme there on that day on this stage on the occasion.
