On June 9, President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi and his council of ministers at Rashtrapati Bhavan. As preparations are underway for the event, security measures have been heightened in the national capital. This marks Modi’s third consecutive term as Prime Minister.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at 7:15 PM on June 9 in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Following the oath-taking ceremony, BJP President JP Nadda will host a dinner for all the NDA leaders and party office bearers.

Notably, the ceremony is expected to be attended by leaders from neighboring countries, such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, and the Maldives, aligning with India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy.

The list of Indian dignitaries invited to the event is diverse and inclusive. It includes lawyers, doctors, artists, cultural performers, influencers, Viksit Bharat ambassadors, beneficiaries of Central government schemes, tribal women, sanitation workers, and 50 religious leaders from all faiths. Additionally, Padma awardees and participants of the popular radio show Mann Ki Baat have also been invited.

The invitee list for the oath-taking ceremony is extensive and encompasses not only political leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties but also prominent figures from the film fraternity, sports fraternity, top industrialists, and businessmen, among others.

What sets this ceremony apart is that Narendra Modi has personally selected a special group of invitees to attend the event. Beneficiaries of Central government schemes, transgenders, laborers involved in the Central Vista project, safai karamcharis (sanitation workers), railway workers involved in key projects such as Vande Bharat trains and the Metro project, and Surekha Yadav, Asia’s first woman loco pilot, have all received special invitations.

This gesture reflects the prime minister’s respect for the contributions of every ambassador involved in building a strong nation. Gone are the days when invitations were solely reserved for VIPs and VVIPs. Ten special invites from the aforementioned categories have been informed that they will have the privilege of witnessing this historic ceremony.

Narendra Modi’s popularity spans across all strata of society, and he has always acknowledged the efforts of those who strive for a better India. Regardless of their background, anyone who has contributed to the nation’s progress will be duly recognized at this event.
